E ngland opened their World Cup with a 4-2 win over Croatia in a six-goal Group L thriller at Dallas Stadium, where 70,389 watched the sides trade blows before England pulled clear.
Kane leads the way
Harry Kane converted a 12th-minute penalty to put England ahead. Martin Baturina levelled for Croatia in the 36th, but Kane restored the lead with his second just before the break.
Honours even at the interval
Petar Musa struck on the stroke of half-time to make it 2-2, setting up a frantic finish to the first half.
Bellingham and Rashford settle it
Jude Bellingham put England back in front two minutes after the restart. Croatia withdrew veteran Luka Modric just before the hour, and substitute Marcus Rashford sealed the 4-2 win late on.
Group L
England begin their Group L campaign with three points, with Ghana and Panama meeting later in the same group.
